چکیده
The current study was conducted to identify the most important variables in activation phase of cellulose acetate production. Dry alpha pulp as raw material supplied by a local company with intrinsic properties viscosity equal 926 mL/g and water content 96%. In this regard, variables, including reaction time (T30, T60, T90 min), addition level acetic acid (C25, C35, C45 units per 100 dry cellulose), sulfuric catalyst (H0, H0.1, H0.5, H1%), were experimented followed characterization activated through retention value (WRV), carboxyl groups, viscosity, reactivity, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy analysis fibers. results indicated that is complex process an inverse or contributing effect variables. data extensively discussed considering swelling effects governed diffusion chemical reactions both crystalline amorphous regions Eventually, those findings conveyed above-mentioned conditions able improve for acetylation particularly increasing H2SO4 consumption.

Dissolving Pulp (alpha-cellulose) from Corn Stalk by Kraft Process
Corn stalk can be used as an alternative non-wood raw material to produce cellulosic dissolving grade pulp. In this work, the potential of corn stalk in the production of dissolving pulp (alpha-cellulose) was investigated. It was collect ed from a corn stalk farm of Kermanshah, Iran. The sequences of experimental work were: water and acid prehydrolysis at 160˚C for 30min, followed by Kraft pulp...
متن کاملAcid hydrolysis of cellulosic fibres: Comparison of bleached kraft pulp, dissolving pulps and cotton textile cellulose.
The behaviour of different cellulosic fibres during acid hydrolysis has been investigated and the levelling-off degree of polymerisation (LODP) has been determined. The study included a bleached kraft pulp (both never-dried and once-dried) and two dissolving pulps (once-dried). Additionally, cotton cellulose from new cotton sheets and sheets discarded after long-time use was studied. Experiment...
متن کاملDissolving Pulp Production from Bamboo
Commercial bamboo chips were evaluated as raw material for dissolving pulp production. The chips were auto-hydrolyzed (AH) and subsequently cooked by the NaOH/AQ process and bleached to full brightness with the O-CCE-D-(EP)-D-P sequence. The term CCE designates a cold caustic extraction stage. The bamboo chip chemistry (22.4% lignin, 19.5% xylans, 49.3% cellulose, 16.8% total extractives, and 1...

متن کاملPreparation of Bamboo Dissolving Pulp for Textile Production. Part 1. Study on Prehydrolysis of Green Bamboo for Producing Dissolving Pulp
Prehydrolysis was used as the first treatment of bamboo materials for producing high dissolving pulp for textile applications. In this paper, green bamboo (Dendrocalamopsis oldhami) was hydrolyzed in water, and the hydrolysis process was optimized. The morphology and super-molecular structures of the raw material and prehydrolyzed material were studied by SEM and XRD, respectively. Based on the...
